Guthlee Ladoo (2023) Drama Movie Review
The film tells the story of a boy whose dad works as a sweeper and is really poor. The boy really wants to go to school, but he can't because of the rules about his caste, which is like a social group. He becomes friends with the headmaster of the school, who is from a higher caste. The headmaster is nice, but he can't do much to change the unfair treatment the boy faces. The big question is: Can they overcome these challenges and make the boy's dream of going to school come true?
Guthlee Ladoo Drama Movie Review
The movie starts in a village where Guthlee, a bright boy from a lower caste, wants to go to school. He sneaks in to learn, but he faces a lot of challenges because of his social status. The film, directed and written by Ishrat R Khan, along with co-writers Srinivas Abrol and Ganesh Pandit, shows the struggles of an oppressed class through Guthlee, his friend Ladoo, and their parents.
As Guthlee tries to fulfill his dream of going to school, he faces the harsh reality and society's unfairness. The movie highlights instances of hypocrisy, like an upper-caste woman treating Guthlee's father badly but still taking money from him. The cinematography by Anil Akki is impressive, capturing the village's authentic feel and the difficult conditions people live and work in.
The characters are well portrayed, with Sanjay Mishra delivering a nuanced performance as the conflicted headmaster. Subrat Datta and Kalyanee Mulay, playing Guthlee's parents, make their characters relatable. The child actors, Dhanay Seth and Heet Sharma, excel in depicting the different sides of the same world.
